Construction Project Coordinator - Toronto

Our client is seeking a Project Coordinator to plan and coordinate administrative efforts for assigned construction projects in the greater Toronto area. The Project Coordinator will be deeply engaged from project initiation to completion, working under the guidance and mentorship of assigned Project Managers. Exposure to various onsite activities is expected, ensuring compliance with drawings and project specifications. The successful candidate must demonstrate proficiency in utilizing workplace technology for scheduling/planning and cost controls. 


Key Responsibilities: 

 

  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Site Supervisors to oversee project administration tasks. 
  • Execute contract documents in alignment with project specifications. 
  • Aid project team in planning, scheduling, and analyzing specifications. 
  • Research and propose solutions for design document challenges. 
  • Maintain accurate logs and track responses, updating Project Manager on RFI progress. 
  • Review and submit subcontractor shop drawings/submittals for approval. 
  • Manage project documentation in both physical and digital formats. 
  • Coordinate communication with subcontractors, resolving delivery and schedule issues. 
  • Monitor fieldwork to ensure compliance with company standards and codes. 
  • Coordinate job-related photography and create drawings to support construction. 
  • Procure close-out documents, including warranties, and fulfill advertisement requirements upon project completion. 
  • Undertake additional assignments as directed by supervision. 
  • Foster positive relationships with owners and stakeholders. 

 

Requirements: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent advanced degree. 
  • 5+ years of extensive Project Coordination Experience in large-scale civil engineering projects. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project and other project management software suites. 
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and mentor junior team members. 
  • Exceptional organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of successfully leading project teams.
